Introduction to CASPAR + NR Castle

This partnership was formed just over two years ago, when the Government earmarked funding for the Spring Boroughs area.

The Delivery Plan Summary has put together a selection of the successes! First under the leadership of Cllr Lee Barron, then of Joe Joyce where an expanding group of partners have used government funding to provide youth work, family support and capital investment in our local environment.

As the partnership has grown it has been able to rely on local residents groups, in Spring Boroughs, Semilong, St. James, and The Mounts. This year we hope that our Delivery Plan will begin to reflect our joint aspiration for managing the public services in our neighbourhoods in a way, which reflects local priorities.

The aim of the partnership is to make long lasting change – helping the Spring Boroughs community to gain in health & wellbeing, housing, education and employment. We are also committed to widening the work beyond that which is government funded, so that the people in Semilong, St. James and The Mounts get a real say in the future. In order to do that we need all the agencies to work with us – the County and Borough Councils, Health & Employment bodies and also the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (WNDC).

Firstly, we will be asking the WNDC to recognise that town centre residents should have a real say in the development of the town and secondly, we will be challenging statutory bodies such as the Primary Care Trust & Job Centre Plus to plan it’s work with our communities in corporation with us.

Finally I would like to thank our talented band of workers – we will also be hosting plenty of activities and fun for all our communities. I hope to see you at some of these events.
